The New Center är en stadsdel i centrala Detroit där många villor och andra byggnader står övergivna och förfaller. Jag tillbringade 2 månader, april och maj 2015 i Detroit och lekte med tanken att husen skulle producera nya hus, ungefär som ett barrträd gör när de börjar bli gamla. Därför hjälpte jag till och byggde modeller av några av husen, som nya skott eller barn till de stora övergivna husen.
The New Center is a district in central Detroit, the sight of abandonned houses is everywhere. Depressing? This springtime I spent 2 months in Detroit and I was playing with the thought; What if the houses were developed in a more organic way, like trees or animals. I made models of some of the houses and brought them back, like there were new small ones, growing next to the big old properties. |
